Ed Clark-Wildlife Center of Virginia
Ed and the Wildlife Center of Virginia are legends in Virginia. For decades, he and his innovative Center have saved thousands of wildlife in Virginia. His veterinarians do lifesaving work every day at the Center. But they also provide advice to law enforcement and the public on how to care for wildlife and how to not be part of the problem that impacts wildlife. Their eagle and raptor releases inspire a sense of joy and wonder. We applaud how they are stewards of wildlife in Virginia and beyond.
Jennifer Toussaint-Animal Welfare League of Arlington
Jennifer and AWLA excel every day in animal abuse enforcement and animal sheltering, but they are the best in wildlife rehabilitation and rescue. Jennifer is an over achiever in this category and every year trains other Agencies on best practices on rescuing all kinds of wildlife including raccoons, fawns, foxes, and all kinds of raptors. She is truly a leader in making sure wildlife gets back to the wild.
Joni Spangler-The Wild Ones, Inc
Joni Spangler has been an animal lover all her life so fostering and rehabbing comes naturally. Raised on a farm in Minnesota, she had all types of pets including cats, dogs, piglets, a pigeon and a baby bull.
She has experience as a veterinarian assistant and had a pet sitting business. For the past 15 years she has been licensed as a rehabber through the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries with a primary focus is saving fawns.
