K-9 Officers and Handlers
Officer Robin Robinson and K-9 partner, Sara-Richmond Police Department
Officer Robinson exemplifies what a K-9 Handler should be and has been with the Richmond Police K-9 unit for 20 years. Not only has she been an exceptional officer in K-9 handling with her partner, Sara, but she gives back to society in another way. She works with animal shelters identifying dogs for the K-9 program, saving dog’s lives, giving dogs a second chance and saving her agency funds. She has also worked to acquire dogs for other agencies as well. This is a win-win for the dogs and the police agencies.
Lt Patrick Sheridan and K-9 partner, Ally-Louisa Sheriff’s Department
Lt. Sheridan has been training bloodhounds and training law enforcement agencies in how to use a bloodhound for police use for over twenty years. He is recognized as an expert in bloodhound training and use by Virginia Agencies, nationally and internationally. He has been awarded the Life Saving Award from the Virginia Bloodhound Search and Rescue Association for his work with K-9 Rizzo. We salute Lt. Sheridan and his 4th K-9 partner, Ally.
